Our current versions of Touch LCD System all come with Flash BIOS. This feature make possible for users to update the BIOS code in the field.
Please DO NOT make an update unless there is an absolute need for it. You can see the version of BIOS when you boot your computer.
The updating is performed by a utility, AWDFLASH.EXE, which can be downloaded from this page according to which motherboard you install.

Step 1:
According to the M/B type of POS system, download the BIOS utility .zip file.
Step 2:
Make a DOS boot diskette with NO autoexec.bat and config.sys files.
You can make DOS bootable floppy disk at the DOS prompt, and type “Format A: /S”, then remove the files “autoexec.bat” and “config.sys”.
Step 3:
Unzip the BIOS utility .zip file to DOS bootable floppy disk, which we created in Step 2.
Step 4:
Connect external keyboard to the system through PS/2 port of POS terminal
Step 5:
Put the bootable floppy into the system’s floppy drive
BIOS Update Procedure
Step 1:
Start the system. Hit Del key when the following message shows up at the bottom of the screen to enter CMOS setup mode:
Press DEL to enter SETUP
Step 2:
Use the arrow keys to select ADVANED BIOS FEATURES and enter.
Step 3:
Select First Boot sequence. Config the “First Boot Device” to USB-FDD. This allows the system to boot from USB floppy drive
Step 4:
Press Esc key to return to the main menu. Press F10 and answer Y when ask “SAVE to CMOS and EXIT (Y/N)?
Step 5:
Boot the system with the floppy disk
Step 6:
Run the update utility by typing
AWDFLASH filename /SN/PY
Where filename is the name of the new BIOS file (.bin file)
Step 7:
Wait for the progress indicator bar to reach end, and the message “Please Power off or reset system” shows up at the bottom of the screen.
Step 7:
After the system reboots, press Esc to enter CMOS Setup. At this point, go to "Load Optimized Defaults". Press Enter. Answer Y when asked “Load Optimized Defaults (Y/N)?”
Step 8:
Press F10 Key and answer Y when asked “SAVE to CMOS and EXIT (Y/N)?”
Step 9:
Remove floppy disk and restart the system. |
